Echo Theatre presents the regional premiere of Mary's Wedding by Stephen Massicotte
April 4-20, 2008

Echo Theatre Company is pleased to present the regional premiere of Stephen Massicotte's play Mary's Wedding.  Performances run April 4-6, 10-13 and 17-20 in the Johnson Hall Theater at the Third Baptist Church.  The venue is located at 620 North Grand Blvd. (corner of Grand and Washington).  Thursday through Saturday shows are at 8 p.m., Sunday matinees at 3 p.m.

Mary’s Wedding is an exhilarating story of first love, as well as a profound and riveting tale of war, remembrance and the sacrifice made by soldiers at home and in the battlefield.  The sweeping drama weaves together actual events and battles from World War I with the romance of a young couple, Mary and Charlie.  The play’s dream structure allows movement back and forth through time and place – from the farmlands of Canada to the trenches of France.

Directed by Eric Little, the production features Equity actors Ben Nordstrom and Magan Wiles.  Set design by Tim Daly.  Lighting design by Dominique Gallo.  Costume design by Sarah Woodworth.  Sound design by Kelly Kerr.

Ben Nordstrom (Charlie) received the 2006 Kevin Kline Award for Outstanding Actor in a Musical for his performance in Footloose at STAGES St. Louis and was nominated again in 2007 for his role in Urinetown at the Repertory Theatre of St. Louis.  He has appeared Off-Broadway and in regional theatres throughout the Midwest.  Magan Wiles (Mary) has performed with many local companies, including the Shakespeare Festival of St. Louis, the Orange Girls and Upstream Theatre.  Her work has garnered two Kevin Kline nominations, including a 2006 nomination for Outstanding Lead Actress in a Play for Echo’s The Sugar Syndrome
